Ergo Baby CarrierProduct Rating: Product Review (submitted on January 2, 2011):
I tried a a number of carriers but as my children got older (and heavier) I'd almost given up babywearing since I couldn't find a carrier that was comfortable and didn't cause me shoulder or back pain after extended use. Then I read a blog review of the Ergo and knew I had to try one.
I'm a stay-at-home mom and thus we are a single income family. The price was a little bit of a concern for me but after trying it, using it and loving it for well over a year, I can assure you that it is 100% worth every penny. I've used it for short walks around the neighborhood as well as for long periods of time (like 8 hours a day several days in a row as we toured Paris this spring!). I've worn it while wearing heels and flats; it's really that comfortable.
It's easy to adjust and I can put baby on myself easily; I'm 5'5". With a waist extender, it also fits my 6'8" husband though he says that the arm straps could be a bit longer for him :)
Though mine has been well used and loved; it's still looking new. I've used it front and back - it's comfortable either way. John was older when we got ours so I didn't try or use it with an infant insert but look forward to trying that with our next baby's arrival this spring.
I still carry Chloe (4 years, 40lbs) and John (2 1/2 years and 35lbs) comfortably, though both will be evicted once new baby arrives this spring!
