Merchandise Coordinator

Parenting By Nature is committed to providing excellent service to our customers by accurately + efficiently receiving, picking, packing, processing + shipping orders. Merchandise coordinators are an essential part of the customer's shopping experience. This job entails assembly of customer orders and preparing them for timely and accurate shipment. Duties include picking orders, packing orders and restocking merchandise. Working at a fast pace with sustained focus are key skills needed for this position, without sacrificing attention to detail. Strong, clear communication skills and the ability to remain flexible throughout the workday, shifting tasks in response to changing priorities, is a must.

All employees of Parenting By Nature are required to have an understanding of this entry level position and training will start with these duties. Depending on the position you are applying for, this may lead to other positions within our organization.

Position & Duties:

  • Packing & process customer orders.
  • Wrap and ship gift orders with appropriate gift cards or registry notices.
  • Help maintain a high accuracy rate (error free orders/total orders shipped) (current accuracy rate is 99.6%).
  • Updating and maintaining accurate customer records, database systems, email contact lists, newsletter lists and gift registry clients.
  • Emailing or calling customers when necessary to process orders in a timely manner or provide exemplary customer support with relation to a orders placed.
  • Receiving shipments – inspecting, counting, cross referencing new stock on packing slip and putting the stock away.
  • Updating online inventory of merchandise as it arrives and/or as required.
  • Performing weekly restocking, inventory counts, maintenance and housekeeping tasks.
  • General customer service help via email and/or phone calls.
  • General accounting and bookkeeping tasks including but not limited to adding supplier invoices to accounting systems, ensuring pending orders are paid in a timely manner, and maintaining accurate inventory counts both in accounting systems and on website.
  • Various other office related duties as needed (filing, printing, preparing flyers etc.).

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Energetic, positive and passionate personality is a must!
  • Basic math skills required such as calculating taxes based on location of orders shipped, applying quantity discounts to orders placed, adding or removing shipping charges where necessary etc.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 lbs.
  • Must be able to climb a ladder and reach overhead stock.
  • Must be quality conscious (quality accuracy) and efficient (production).
  • Must be detail oriented and able to answer questions about product line with customers over the phone.
  • Extremely organized and coordinated - must be obsessive about organization!
  • Comfortable in a small setting, working closing with 2-3 individuals.
  • Comfortable working independently, as well as doing regular and repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to communicate well, in a clear manner, with colleagues, associates and customers.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be computer savvy, and able to learn how to negotiate email program, shipping program and store administration programs.
  • The ability to work under pressure, meet demanding deadlines, and handle stress appropriately.
  • Ability to work varied hours as needed, although this is very flexible.

Compensation and Hours:

Full-time (25+ hours) and part-time (12-20 hours a week) shifts will vary. Current hours may include Monday-Saturday from 9am-5pm with evening shifts until 8pm on Thursday and Friday (seasonal). Sunday's will be added to the schedule with hours from 10-5.

You must have the ability to work retail hours including days, weekends (Saturdays and Sundays), holidays and special events within a fast paced work environment. Please do not apply if you are unable to work weekends.

Compensation is competitive with generous flexibility when family needs arise. We provide on the job paid training.
