Every piece is handmade in California, one at a time, from top quality designer fabric and heavy duty webbing and buckles. Beco uses their our own FAIR TRADE PRODUCTION FACILITY. The Beco can be enjoyed with babies from newborns to toddlers.

Innovative Built-In Infant Insert - for safe & comfortable wearing.

The Beco Butterfly built-in infant insert means you do not need to purchase the insert separately, and your baby can sit higher in the carrier, in a natural healthy position. Later on, when baby outgrows the need for insert, you simply place her into the main body compartment, and the insert lays flat against the body.

Inside panel is one of the most innovative features of Butterfly model. It enables you to pass baby to your spouse or another caregiver without removing baby from the carrier. It also makes back carries as easy as can be, even with a three month old (with full neck control).

Important Features for Comfort & Safety

Most importantly, look for structured carriers that make use of back-packing technology which help in preventing strain on your neck, back and shoulders. Wider shoulder straps, padding in all the right places and a supportive waist belt help to distribute baby's weight to your hips and upper thighs for maximum comfort.

There is evidence available that suggests an infant’s weight should not rest entirely on the crotch region, and that the position for healthy development in a baby is in a semi-squat or seated position – the same position your baby would be resting in if you were carrying them in your arm’s naturally. Carrying Instructions for the Beco Butterfly

Full written instructions as well as an instruction DVD are included with each Beco Butterfly baby carrier. Please note that the instruction manual and the DVD both were created before the first edition buckles were replaced with the new super-secure buckles. There is no longer a "safety loop" on each buckle (as shown on the DVD) and the buckles now require two hands to open. The safety loops mentioned on the Butterfly DVD are no longer necessary and are not included on the shoulder straps.
