Rayon from Bamboo

Rayon from bamboo is a miraculous fibre that is manufactured from material derived from the bamboo plant. Bamboo (the plant) is a naturally occurring, renewable resource with a very short growth cycle. It is a very abundant plant, growing quickly and easily. Contrary to cotton, however, it can thrive naturally without the use of pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers. Because it is a plant fiber, rayon from bamboo is biodegradable in a composting environment. The process of turning bamboo plant material into rayon from bamboo is mechanical in nature (man-made).

All bamboo fibre garments are manufactured using the man made cellulose version which is in the viscose/rayon family of fibres. It is important to clarify that Bamboo yarn is not made from synthetic fibres, it is produced by processing organic material (bamboo fibre) into pure cellulose. Synthetic fibres are petrochemical based.

The Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 is a globally uniform testing and certification system for textile raw materials, intermediate and end products at all stages of production. In the case of bamboo fibre all links in the supply chain have their own certificates from fibre production right through to knitting and dyeing.

Whether bamboo fibre production has less or more impact than cotton is still a matter for debate as cotton farming has significant impacts itself. Bamboozle Cloth Diapers - An unrivalled luxurious fabric.

Bamboozles Size 2 can be used from birth to toddler, with their adjustable rise. Two rows of snaps along the front of the size 2 means you can fold them down to expose a second row of snaps for an infant, or increase the rise for an older baby. Do keep in mind a size 2 will be quite bulky on a newborn. Size 2 Bamboozle diapers will start to fit better at 12-15 lbs (around 3-4 months). If you're looking for an economical option and bulk is not a concern, then you might only use the Size 2 diapers. We suggest at least 4-6 size 1 diapers for during the day and outings with an infant, as these will fit better under daytime clothing.
