Flushable Diaper Liners ... making clean-up a breeze.
Flushable Diaper Liners make cloth diapering clean-ups a breeze to handle. They also aid in preventing stains on your cloth diapers, decrease the chance of detergent build-up or cream residue (reduces odor retention!), and provides a light barrier between your baby and wetness. A real time-saver!
These cloth diaper liners can be use as flushable diaper liners or disposable diaper liners, depending on your water system. If you are on a septic system, or have old or damaged plumbing, it is highly recommended that you simply dispose of these liners in the trash, rather than flush them down your toilet. This is our personal recommendation with ALL biodegradable, flushable (disposable) cloth diaper liners, although these are labeled as septic-safe on new systems. Disposing of these liners in the trash still makes cleaning up just as simple and easy!
How to use Biodegradable Flushable Liners:
- Simple! Place the bio-liner on top of any cloth diaper against your baby.
- When diaper is soiled, remove liner and put into toilet.
- Allow liner to absorb water and become softer for easier flushing. Only flush one liner at a time!
- If on a sensitive septic system, remove liner and dump solids down toilet. Dispose of liner in the trash.
- Wet liner only? Rinse, hang to dry, and reuse a second or third time.
Our biodegradable, flushable diaper liners are constructed from plant cellulose (soft wood pulp) and are whitened using Hydrogen Peroxide rather than chlorine bleach. Providing a layer between your baby's bottom and a cloth diaper, these disposable liners protect your cloth diapers from staining, as well as protecting your baby's behind. They allow wetness to pass through them, onto the cloth diaper, but not back again. This helps keep your baby feeling dryer had no liner been used at all. They are designed to retain solids, making clean up easier. So durable, these cloth diaper liners are can be washed (if only wet) and re-used more than once. Soft plant fibers are less scratchy than other paper liners available on the market. A great choice for parents that want less mess!
Our Biodegradable Flushable Diaper Liners come in an average roll of 100 perforated sheets/changes per roll. Constructed of 100% Viscose, the size small measures approximately 5" x 11.5" per sheet and are recommended for newborns or with prefolds or fitted diapers. We recommend the size large liners for pocket diapers to minimize shifting and bunching on the fleece fabric. If you are on a septic, or would like a STAY-DRY, economical option for your baby, check out our reusable, washable microfleece cloth diaper liners. Caution: Flushing of liners in old or damaged drains and in sensitive septic tanks may cause blockage. These and any other "flushable biodegradable" liners are only recommended for use in city systems. If you are on a septic system, please use with caution.

Q: My family is on a septic system. What are my alternatives?
A: Just as you should not flush tissues or paper towels when you have a septic system, flushing biodegradable cloth diaper liners is not recommended. These flushable diaper liners are labeled as safe for new septic systems, however, we would still suggest using caution, if you choose to flush them. You should only flush one liner in the toilet at a time. Additionally, we recommended that you let the liner sit in the water for a few minutes before flushing it so that the pulp absorbs water and becomes softer and easier to flush.
Alternatively, you can also use these liners as disposable liners, and once the solids are dumped into the toilet, toss the paper liner into a waste receptacle instead. This will still help save time and make cleaning up after baby easier and less messy.
For parents that want to save more money, or are concerned about the waste left behind, cloth diaper liners that can be re-used and washed in the washing machine along side cloth diapers are an excellent alternative.
Alternatives to biodegradable, flushable liners, all of which are washable and reusable, include:
- Microfleece, Stay-Dry Liners (wicks moisture from baby for the ultimate in wetness protection)
- Hemp/ORGANIC Cotton Doublers (also provides increased absorbency)
- Mini Shower Diaper Sprayer (a customer and mom FAVORITE!)

They were great until they caused a rash Review by Michelle
Value Quality Price We used these for about 2 months after the boy started solids. Unfortunately, after much trial and error, we discovered that it was the liners that were causing his rashes. We stopped using the liners, and the rashes basically went away.
Would you recommend this product to a friend? In the right circumstance.
Too bad, since they were very convenient.
However, 2 years later, we don't miss them - we're so used to just managing the poop with our diaper sprayer, it's not a big deal at all. (Posted on 1/4/11)

For those who despise the toilet swish Review by Kristen
Price Value Quality When I told a friend I was going to use cloth diapers, her only advice was "just don't get the kind that you have to rinse in the toilet every time." She had bad memories from when she was 12 and her younger brother was born. Well we have 'that kind' of diaper, but with these liners there is no need for the swishing. This is good news for 'dad,' who was not so sure about cloth diapers either. I find using liners also helps keep the diapers cleaner, and I don't have to worry about residue from diaper cream (which we have to use often). These work great, if you're worried about waste, the fleece liners are also lovely. (Posted on 7/13/10)

Price Value Quality These liners were included with our first Bummis kit and we LOVE them!! Having had to do the rinsing thing in the past, these make cloth diapering as easy as disposable diapers - even while traveling.

I've been disposing of these in the garbage (even though they are flushable, I'm not convinced that our septic system can handle them). Even so, the amount of waste is really minimal. You can even reuse them by rinsing and hang to dry if the diaper isn't poop-y.

Price Value Quality I absolutely love these. Though it does add an additional cost to cloth diapering, it also means that I simply tip my soiled diaper over the toilet and this flushable liner filled with...um...the mess, just falls into the toilet and is flushed away. Then I can just toss the diaper in my pail and wash.
Would you recommend this product to a friend? Without hesitation!
It really helps cut down on the "ick factor" and helps me avoid touching fecal matter which is a huge plus in my books!

Price Value Quality These liners make clean up so much easier and have been a staple in our cloth diapering since the beginning. Even with runny newborn poo they have saved us from having to deal with major messes on the diapers. It's so nice to be able to throw away the majority of the mess and flush away! At night they seem to help wick some of the wetness away from our little one's skin. My only complaint is that they do slip and bunch on occasion in the diaper - I haven't tried the large size yet, which could potentially solve this problem. Price Value Quality I have been using these from the get go. It makes the mess so easy to clean up. I am fortunate that my daycare provider will do cloth diapering and this makes it even easier for her.
