The Peekaru Original Babywearing Vest is made from 85% recycled Malden Mills fleece (www.polartec.com for more information on Malden Mills) which is milled in the USA. 85% recycled means that approximately 25 two liter plastic bottles are used to create each Peekaru Original. Each 150 Peekarus made saves about a barrel of oil and half a ton of toxic air pollution. In addition, Polartec fleece is Oeko-tex Standard 100 "for textile products of all types which pose no risk whatsoever to health." Feel good knowing that while you are holding your baby close, you are also helping the environment.

The Peekaru Original is a fleece babywearing vest that zips over a soft baby carrier to keep you and your child warm. The Peekaru vest works great with all baby carrier types, including Hotslings Baby Slings*, Maya Wrap Ring Slings*, the Ergo Baby Carrier, the Baby Bjorn, Moby Wraps and the Kozy Carrier or BabyHawk Mei Tai.

*Please note that the Peekaru Original should not be worn with a child in the cradle or side laying position, as your babies head needs to be out of the baby head opening in order to insure proper oxygen flow.

The Peekaru Original babywearing vest can be worn alone or with a coat over it. You can add your rain coat, winter coat or even another babywearing coat over the Peekaru Original so you always have the perfect amount of warmth for the temperature. We believe the design provides the best compromise of warmth, ease of use, and style. Since the Peekaru Original is a vest, you can wear it in temperatures from 69 to about 40 alone, add a coat and you can wear it throughout winter in even the coldest climates. This versatility isn’t possible if it has sleeves, as the sleeves would make it too warm for spring or fall and too bulky to layer over. The high quality Malden Mills fleece is surprisingly warm. On a warmer mid-winter day in Southern Ontario, we've been out and about in our Peekaru vest with only a hat, mitts, our Peekaru Original and our baby heater (our daughter!), and we were fine to walk for over an hour.

It's EASY to use the Peekaru babywearing vest. With baby secured in your carrier of choice, simply put your head through the Peekaru vest top opening, your right arm through the right side opening, and baby's head through the front opening. Reach around to zip up the zipper, and you're set to go! The baby carrier vest can also be used with most back baby carriers. With baby on your back both safe and cozy, your hands are free to go about your outdoor activities.

The Peekaru Original is available in standard woman's sizes, small, medium and large. Simply purchase your regular size, and the pleated seam and stretchy fleece will accommodate any size baby. If your shirt size is medium, a medium babywearing vest is right for you. Buy the size that best suits you, as the size of the child won't affect the fit.

Sizing for the Peekaru vest is as follows:

• Small (size 4-6)
• Medium (size 8-10)
• Large (size 12-14)
• XL (size 16-18) (special order, please inquire)

It is possible to size up/down for couples to share, since the function of the Peekaru doesn't change with size. If one parent doesn't mind the cover being a bit loose, and the other doesn't mind it being a bit tight, it should work out just fine. The sizing shown is women's sizing so we would recommend getting a size larger to fit both parents of varying sizes. It is often helpful to remember that whoever will be doing the majority of the carrying, should get the size that they are most comfortable in. We often want our husbands to carry the baby, but that doesn't mean they will choose to use a cover or baby carrier.
