Maya Wrap Baby Slings are loved by moms and dads alike. Maya Wrap baby slings are a fully adjustable baby sling ensuring a perfect and hassle-free fit every time. The tail on the Maya Wrap is perfect for a nursing mother's privacy, and since dad won't require this extra tail length, he can easily adjust the fit. The tail can also be used as a light-weight blanket during the cooler months, and offers the perfect protection from the sun during the summertime.
The minimal padding in the Maya Wrap baby slings means there is NO excess bulk. There is just enough fabric to pad the shoulder area without being overwhelming which also allows for a tighter, trimmer fit for smaller or petite wearers. As well, the lack of padding outside of the shoulder means both the top and bottom rail of a Maya Wrap baby sling can be adjusted independently for a perfect fit each and every time.
Parent's also love the fact that Maya Wrap Baby Slings are safe! The fabric dyes used in Maya Wrap slings are free from copper, nickel, lead, mercury, cadmium, cobalt, aluminum, arsenic, chromium or any other poisonous substance. Similarly, the rings used in the Maya Wrap are light aluminum, lead-free rings.

Babies that are carried in a Baby Sling...
Of course, there are also many benefits to a mother that carries their baby in a baby sling. Hands suddenly become free to attend to basic tasks throughout the day or an older child is easily assisted when their younger sibling is content or sleeping away in a sling. Mothers that are at risk for postpartum depression report having an easier time when baby is in a sling and they are able to care for themselves AND baby, both simultaneously.

A Customer Reviews the Maya Wrap Baby Sling
Wow! When I was first asked to review the Maya Wrap baby sling I realized I was a walking testomonial to it's incredibly versatile and useful nature every single day. My son is now 2.5 years old and we still use our Maya Wrap almost every day. I honestly don't know what we ever did before I discovered this baby sling. Oh - wait a minute! I DO remember! I didn't learn about baby slings until my son was almost 3 months old and that first 3 months was just a blur. Dylan was my first child, and let's just say the transition from "all about me" to "all about him" wasn't exactly easy. It was tough feeling as though my entire life and identity had disappeared after one long (looooong) night of labor. Then I discovered my Maya Wrap. Boy did life change!
With my son curled up in his Maya Wrap, sleeping away safe and sound, I finally had my hands free for ME. If I wanted to houseclean, read, surf the net or even just make myself a sandwich, I could. Before my baby sling, any time I tired to lay Dylan down for a few moments to myself, he would wail and cry. My baby sling really saved my sanity. Even my husband loves our Maya Wrap! He will carry Dylan around the mall when we're out shopping, and when Dylan is ready to nurse, it's easy to switch from daddy to mommy so that he can get his fill of yummy mommy's milk. And one of the BEST things about baby slings is the fact that I could nurse hands-free. Gently draping the tail of the Maya Wrap over my son (and me!) I have nursed in the grocery store, the library, walking around the mall and even in Walmart. No one ever knew what was going on when my son was nursing in his baby sling. In fact, most people thought he was sleeping, and I actually found people would respect his and my privacy better when my son was covered in the sling.
My husband and I are now expecting baby #2 and I know once this new baby comes along I will have an all-new appreciation for the Maya Wrap. I don't know if I can love this baby sling much more than I do already, but when my infant is sleeping in the sling and I have my hands free to attend to my toddler, I just know I'll be declaring how fabulous the Maya Wrap is all over again. No parent should be without a baby sling!

Really great sling Review by Julie

I have been using this sling with my son for a month now. He was 12 hours old when I put him in it for the first time. He has loved being worn in this sling. It's soft, breathable and easy to adjust. He falls asleep in it every time I wear him and I get lots of comments on the beautiful colour. The only thing I was slightly disappointed in was the brightness of the colour. It looks way brighter on the website (I have the burnt orange). Overall I would buy this again and recommend this sling to friends. (Posted on 7/15/10)Would you recommend this product to a friend? By far my favourite sling Review by CINDY

My Maya Wrap baby ring slings have been my favourite through all 5 of my babies. I have purchased more than one so have the most recent model in use, but my original sling is still used daily with my youngest, 12 years after the fact! It is buttery soft from love and use. Where can you find that kind of durability and value these days???Would you recommend this product to a friend? Without hesitation!
I love the colours and it is easily adjustable within the rings. I have found it to be one of the most adjustable slings because it is simple to adjust the top and bottom rails separately. I can nurse in it anywhere, including the grocery store, and with the tail cover up, no one knows the better.
If I had to recommend one babywearing tool for a newborn to toddler, this would be it, hands down!!! (Posted on 1/3/11)
Comfy for mom and baby Review by Mariko

This sling comes with a booklet and a dvd to explain how to use it. At first it is kind of awkward but after reading the book, watching the video and trying it out a couple times it is super easy to use. My daughter used to need to be walked around a lot when she was just a month old. This sling made it seem not so bad and saved my arms from holding her for the laps around the house. She now still loves it at 3.5 months old but will only use it facing out so she can get good look at what is going on around her. She almost always falls asleep in it: :) (Posted on 7/3/10)Would you recommend this product to a friend? Without hesitation!
Did not work well for us Review by Fatima

I bought this sling when my daughter was 1 month old hoping that it would help me to accomplish more around the house since I could carry my daughter in it while she is sleeping or nursing.
First, I have discovered that it's practically impossible to nurse the baby in a sling. Breastfeeding of a baby of this age typically requires two hands - you hold the breast with one hand and baby's head with another hand. The sling does not provide firm and steady support that is required for baby's head during breastfeeding. Even if I managed to latch my daughter on properly she would come off the breast almost immediately (or would pull on the breast) if I let her head go and the head would be supported only by the sling.
Second, my daughter always seemed to be very squished and would cry when I put her into the sling. I have tried a few times with help of my mom following the instructions on a DVD but my daughter did not like it.
When my daughter turned 3 months we tried the next position - sitting in a sling with legs curled up inside. She liked it, and after a couple of tries it was fairly easy to put her in. She could spend up to a half an hour in it watching everything I was doing which was probably something interesting and new for her, and on the other hand would allow me to get some things done. The drawback I discovered is that my back and my shoulder joint started to hurt. I have never had back pains in my life, even during pregnancy, so it was very disappointing to feel the pain over use of this sling. Another problem is that it's very hard to do anything that requires bending or picking things up from the floor, so the range of things that you can do with your baby in a sling is fairly limited. My daughter looked very cute in a sling, and we have made several nice photographs while she was in a sling in this position. Other than that, and occasional use around the house when I desperately need to get something done, and do not want to leave her crying, we did not use this sling much.
Now my baby is 6 months old, and it's time to move on to the next carrying position but because she is getting heavier, and the sling puts pressure on my back and shoulders, I do not think I will be using it much.
Overall, definitely does not worth what I paid for it - I would not buy it if I had to do it again.
A note from the bynature.ca family: Thank you for your review! We're sorry to hear you had trouble with hands-free nursing and positioning with your sling. A ring sling provides one of the best opportunities for hands-free nursing of a newborn, but there is a learning curve. You might try to contact a local babywearing group and/or midwife or doula that would have experience with using a ring sling. Of course if you are able to come into our store in Orillia, we'd love to help you through these challenges. Also, the forums at thebabywearer.com offer a fantastic resource if you have had trouble finding local support. I hope this helps! (Posted on 3/28/12)
